What are Flex Points?

Flex Points work like a pre-paid debit card with funds kept on the student ID card.  Flex points may be used at any on-campus dining venue during the semester.

How can I add Flex Points?

Flex points can be added at any of our dining venues with our cashier.  You can also visit our website as another fast and easy option.

How can I find out how many Flex Points I have left?

Flex Point balances can be found at any of our dining venue cash registers after a purchase is made.  They can also be tracked through the student's CSP account under 'Check Concordia Balance'.

How many Meal Plan Flex Points should I spend each week?

Residents living in Luther Hall, Wollaeger Hall and Hyatt Village should spend approximately $20 per day.  

Holst Hall residents should spend approximately $8.75 per day.  You can use the Meal Plan Declining Balance Grid to help track your spending throughout the semester, which is found in the Student Life Center.

If I live in Holst Hall, can I have a full meal plan?

Yes, students can upgrade to the full meal plan for an additional fee.  Please talk to Residential Life Manager, Heidi Goettl or email

What happens if I run out of Meal Plan Flex Points before the end of the semester?

On-Campus students can purchase $100 worth of flex points for only $65 with our cashier at any of our dining venues after their meal plan points are spent.  You can also visit our website as another fast and easy option.

What happens to my Meal Plan Flex Points if I don't use them by the end of the semester?

Points remaining at the end of the semester will be forfeited.

What if I am a commuter student and want to purchase a meal plan?

If you are a commuter student complete a Commuter Plan Request Form or visit the Resident Life Manager office in Meyer Hall 111 to have your Commuter Plan charged to your student account.  You can also go to as another fast and easy option.

Is there any advantages to have a Commuter Meal Plan?

Students having a commuter meal plan do not pay taxes on their food purchases.  Also, flex points carry over from Fall to Spring Semester, but must be used by the end of the academic year.

Can I still eat in the Student Life Center if I don't have a meal plan?

Absolutely!  You can use flex points, cash or a credit card to pay for meals in the Dining Hall, even if you don't have a meal plan.

What if I am in a hurry with no time to sit and eat?

Take advantage of our Eco Friendly To-Go containers and take your food with you on the run.

Where else, besides the cafeteria, can I use my Flex Points?

The Coffee Shop, which is located in the Commons, proudly brews Caribou Coffee.  They create a variety of espresso drinks, smoothies, gourmet sandwiches, salads and more!  

The meal plan flex points cannot be used at local restaurants.

What do I do if I lose my ID card?

You will want to get a new card so you can continue to use your Flex Points.  Should this happen please get a replacement at the Card Service Office at Campus Security, Meyer Hall 124.  You can also contact them directly at (651) 641-8788 or email
